PENSACOLA, FL – ITGulfCoast, an Information Technology Association for the Gulf Coast, will hold their regular monthly meeting on Wednesday, August 26, 2009 at the Gulf Coast Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (formerly PJC Downtown Campus). Scott Paul of GridSouth Networks and ARM Research Labs, divisions of AppRiver, will discuss virtualization security
Presentation Abstract
Virtualization is one of the most important new information technologies of our time, and security is listed as a top concern by nearly every IT professional working today. Together, they represent an important opportunity to advance the cause of secure networks and data, and an appealing new target for those seeking to exploit security vulnerabilities.
After a predictably slow start, security solutions and strategies focused on virtualized environments are now being developed faster and adopted more widely. In this “state of the union” look at virtualization security, find out about the key issues and trends shaping the network and data security landscape in a post-VM world:
- Threats that are unique to virtualization
- What the marketplace is telling us
- Can virtualization make networks more secure?
- What the industry is doing to keep virtual assets safe
