      About the Presentation

Since the dawn of computing machines, architects, engineers, and technicians were required to ensure their machines remained fully operational. Many of the challenges faced by computing pioneers are still faced by modern system administrators. Despite the fact that today's computational machinery has impressive number crunching and analysis governed by advanced operating systems, modern system administrators encounter situations similar to situations encountered while operating Univac, Eniac, and the Mark IV computers in the 1950's.
