1. Information We Collect
IT Gulf Coast collects information you provide directly, including: name, email address, phone number, job title, organization, and professional focus area when you create a member account or complete our volunteer intake form. We also collect payment information through our secure payment processor (Stripe) for paid memberships. We do not store full credit card numbers on our servers. When you use our website, we may collect usage data such as pages visited, browser type, and IP address through standard web analytics.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to: (a) create and manage your member account; (b) process membership payments; (c) send membership-related communications including event announcements, newsletters, and renewal reminders; (d) display your profile in the member directory (only information you choose to share); (e) improve our website and services; and (f) comply with legal obligations. We do not sell your personal information to third parties.
3. Member Directory
Your name and professional information may be displayed in the ITGC member directory, which is accessible only to active members. You may control what information appears in your directory profile by updating your member portal settings. You may request removal of your directory listing at any time by contacting contact@itgulfcoast.org.
4. Email Communications
As an ITGC member, you will receive transactional emails (account confirmations, payment receipts) and membership communications (event announcements, newsletters). You may opt out of non-transactional communications at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link in any email or contacting us at contact@itgulfcoast.org. Opting out of communications does not cancel your membership.
5. Data Sharing
We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information. We may share information with trusted service providers who assist in operating our website and services (such as Supabase for database hosting and Stripe for payment processing) under strict confidentiality agreements. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights and safety of ITGC and its members.
6. Data Security
We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your personal information, including encrypted data transmission (HTTPS), secure password hashing, and access controls. However, no method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure. We encourage you to use a strong, unique password for your ITGC account and to contact us immediately if you suspect unauthorized access.
7. Data Retention
We retain your personal information for as long as your membership is active and for a reasonable period thereafter to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. You may request deletion of your account and associated data by contacting contact@itgulfcoast.org. Some information may be retained in backup systems for a limited period following deletion.
8. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to: access the personal information we hold about you; correct inaccurate information; request deletion of your information; opt out of certain data uses; and receive a copy of your data in a portable format. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at contact@itgulfcoast.org. We will respond within 30 days.
9. Cookies
Our website uses essential cookies to maintain your login session and remember your preferences. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. You can control cookie settings through your browser, but disabling essential cookies may affect the functionality of the member portal.
10. Children's Privacy
The ITGC Service is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, please contact us immediately at contact@itgulfcoast.org.
